Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple years, streaming music has become the newest medium for the mass public to consume music. As a rapper or singer this means you need to always pay close attention to what’s going on as the changes are happening faster than I can write this new post.

Streaming Revenue - Is It Worth It?

Simply put, in my opinion, it is worth it. Now since streaming music services like Beats, Tidal, Spotify, ect. are so brand new, there are kinks in the system that must be worked out.

Even with these factors, streaming music is quickly surpassing other forms of music distribution.

This means you should start getting your feet wet in the beginning so that you can understand this new technology better than other rappers and singers

Streaming Revenue - Fair Profit?

I won’t go and venture to say whether the revenue from streaming music is “fair” or “unfair”, but I will say that you should expect a fraction of a cent for each stream.

When I found that out my stomach probably dropped like most of yours did, but as Tony Robbins always says “See it for what it is, but not worse than it is”.

Like I said previously, being a new form of technology there’s kinks in the system that needs to be worked on. This is completely normal, but we as artists – the content creators – the rappers, singers, songwriters, producers, beatmakers, ect. should stay vigilent that everyone gets a just wage for the value they provide in the market.

With that said, always remember, here at We Got Beats we are all about “Multiple Sources of Income” – that means that we never rely on just one place to earn our income and wealth. We build an entire Wealth Tree and earn income from all of it. Just your music in itself has multiple branches in the Wealth Tree.

If you want to learn more about ways to earn more income from your music just watch the video above.

Streaming Revenue - 1 Limb of Your Wealth Tree

Remember, this is just another way for you to earn money from your music and the best part is that it’s PASSIVE INCOME. Meaning you don’t really have to do much to earn the revenue. Now I won’t sit here and promise you how much you will make from it but I will say that if you sit there in inaction you have no chance to make any of it.

With that said I want to break down just a few ways you could earn income from your music – including the streaming revenue.

  • Streaming Revenue
  • Physical Merchandise
  • Download Sales
  • CD Sales
  • Ticket Sales

Those are just 6 ways you can earn money just from your music alone. There are some other creative ways that I never even thought of before that you can think up. The main point here is this, start getting your multiple sources of income going from your music. Start with your streaming revenue because that is passive and takes little time to set up. Then move forward from there, build a loyal raving fanbase who will purchase your merch, go to shows, buy cds or downloads.
